The Gap between Knowledge and Action is where potential goes to die.

All the knowledge in the world is no use if there is no action emerging from it. You might be the brightest mind in the world till the time there is no application of your thoughts, they don’t hold any merit or proof.
In fact the validation of your thoughts comes from your successful implementation of it. In absence of which, it is just a hypothesis. This wide gap between Knowledge and Action is not easy to bridge though. We might know the right thing to do and the implication of practising it but still find oneself wandering in the land of procrastination, getting influenced by every oddity in the path rather than marching forward.
A. Don’t get overwhelmed by the distractions. When you find yourself distracted, just give a gentle mental push back towards your path. Isn’t this what meditation is? The practice of Zazen to be watchful of your distractions and just to align yourself to your original path. At the end of the day it is always more about the journey and less about the destination.
B. The only way to start is to start. If you have an idea, try it out as soon as possible. As the spark of that idea keeps on diminishing with time. Faith and Excitement start getting replaced by Fear and Doubt. It's always better to try and fail than to never have taken that first step.
C. The impact of action doesn’t matter, till there is regular implementation of it. You are not required to win the world in the first strike but just to show up every single day. This eventually becomes a character trait. If you build the muscle for showing up for any one objective in your life, then that skill you can actually implement across. Discipline is an acquired skill.
If you think about it what else is living but taking action and living through experiences that you intend to. Existing is passive, but living is active; it’s the difference between watching life unfold and intentionally creating your own story.
To live is to act, to experience, and to intend; anything less is merely a whisper of what could be.
