How to start writing — A Guide.

This year I am planning to write down my thoughts every single day. Why? Because I believe I have a lot to say. There are worlds in my head which have a life of their own. They give me immense happiness but I have realised that I don’t have the voice to express them. So, yes this is more of an exercise to find my voice.
I believe the process should be fairly simple. I have to sit ideal for a while and get bored enough to start tinkering with things. Then I will finally open a blank page and start typing.
There are a few rules too of this game :
You have to write down everything that you are thinking in that moment. Selection of thoughts to be written down is not a choice.
Once a thought is written you can’t delete it. Let it stay, breath in open air for a while, let it dry and may be after a while you will make friends with it and won’t mind its presence anymore. I believe most of the time we delete a thought not because it is not good. It is mostly because it has suddenly revealed a part of who we are and we still not comfortable with sharing that part of ours with the world. Do you realise how little of ourselves we share with people around us? None of our ideas, dreams or secret desires get even a mention in the daily conversations. Our true self is a person that we are scared to share with the world for the fear of ridicule or apathy. A write essentially bases their soul so that you could live the darker parts of yourself in the stories they weave. They are kinda like a warrior that why. (Imagine a meek little introvert mouse really empathising on that last bit)
Coming back — You have to really enjoy writing. feel the smile on your face. Take a deep breath and realise that really warm feeling right in the middle of your (not heart) chest. A tingling of purpose, intoxication of proverbial meaning and high of realising this is what a good day is.
Never edit. You might end up second guessing your own thoughts. I might second guess this one later, because it doesn’t make sense even as i write. For now it stays.
If you diligently follow the rules you will find out you have not written something even remotely close to what you wanted to say. That’s the trick though. You see, there is so much waiting to be said getting accumulated in your mind. You need to let it go first. Give you mind a way out to speak itself out and pour the pure understanding on pages. Only once it has done that it is all charged up and ready for the task you want to put it up for.
Wait, before you move on to your task. Make sure to click the “send button” and let your thoughts flow out in the world. This part is critical. Not because you are looking for feedback, trolls or likes. For you have braved yourself for once and said what you wanted to. It might be just the story which someone needed to hear that day.
