You are the sum total of 5 things you do in a day.

Let’s do a thought exercise. Think about all the things you did today ( or yesterday based on time when you are reading it). Now imagine if you were to do the same things everyday for the next 5 years, what kind of person would you become?


We don’t realise this but repetition makes us who we are. Hence it is very important to catch oneself while we are doing things we don’t want to become. Say if I am someone who has a very negative perception about the world, if I keep repeating this negative loop every day, I will eventually become a sad person who always sees the world being an unfair place and I am the victim every time.


Similarly, if I apply this to a positive activity, say I decide to workout everyday for 15 mins, every day for the next 5 years, I will definitely be far healthier than I am today. The same is happening with your dreams, the person you want to become or things you want to achieve in 5 years, are you doing a minute chuck of it today? If it is not part of your routine, it might not be part of your future either.


Your random day today, is a blueprint of your future life. Of the person you want to be in 5 years, pick the 5 things you are ready to do right now. You have been planning all this while, without action nothing materializes. Consciously make the 5 things as part of your routine today, otherwise the 5 unconscious things you are doing every day is going to define what you will become.


Though I can understand it can be a bit overwhelming to make plans for future and start acting on them right away. That's not the intention, if only the seed of this thought has been planted, it will take form eventually.
